Disabled Daughter Dies in Crash, Mom Sues State

According to the Florida Times-Union, the state of Georgia is being blamed for the death of a 23-year-old disabled woman in a van crash. A lawsuit, filed by the victim's mother, alleges that the driver of the van had a known medical history that should have precluded her from being assigned to drive the van. The van was used to transport disabled clients to a training center. The driver, who also died in the accident, had indicated on an employee emergency form that she had diabetes and cardiac problems. The state has denied any negligence in the accident, said the Florida Times-Union.
