Couple Blames Campground for Thunderstorm Injuries
A couple who were injured in a severe windstorm have sued the owners of a New Hampshire campground, reports the Hampton Union. During the summer of 2004, the couple visited the campground in a pop-up camper. A violent storm known as a "bow echo" tore through the campground, breaking and toppling pine trees. One tree landed atop the couple. The woman's leg was pierced by a tree branch, and the left side of her body was crushed. According to the Hampton Union, the pair's lawsuit claims that the campground should have monitored weather reports and notified the couple to take shelter, as advised by the National Weather Service.
