Lawsuit Says Town to Blame for Weight Training Injuries
According to the Worcester Telegram, a former high school football player has filed a personal injury lawsuit against the town of Westboro, Massachusetts, alleging that the town was negligent in allowing him to engage in weight training unsupervised, causing serious injuries. The student, a junior at the time, was lifting 400-weights in the high school weight room with no coach, teacher, or other responsible adult present. The weights slipped, smashing into his face and causing multiple fractures. The Worcester Telegram reports that the town denies the allegations of negligence and claims that the student caused his own injuries.
